Methylparaben and Propylparaben Combination
Methylparaben and propylparaben are two preservatives from the paraben family that are often used and reviewed together. Combining a shorter- and longer-chain ester broadens the range of microbes controlled across an emulsion. Regulators such as the EU SCCS assess parabens partly as a class. This page explains what they are, how they work, and why we use BIT instead.
