Sodium Hydroxide (Lye / Caustic Soda)

Sodium hydroxide — lye, caustic soda — is a strong base used as the active ingredient in drain cleaners, oven cleaners, and some heavy-duty degreasers. It causes severe chemical burns on contact with skin, eyes, and mucous membranes.
