Peppermint Japanese Essential Oil
What you're getting: One 1 fl oz (30ml) amber glass bottle of 100% pure, undiluted mentha arvensis essential oil. No carrier oil, no additives, no synthetic fragrance. Steam distilled from the aerial parts of the plant.
Scent profile: Intensely cool and clean — more menthol-forward than common peppermint (mentha piperita). Mentha arvensis (Japanese field mint) has a higher natural menthol content, which gives it a sharper, colder character. The kind of clean that clears a room in a good way. This is the oil we use in our Peppermint & Lemon cleaning products — the same quality, the same source, sold on its own.
How to use it: In an ultrasonic diffuser, 3–5 drops per 100ml of water is a good starting point. It blends well with lemon, eucalyptus, rosemary, and lavender. In DIY cleaning recipes, it adds both scent and a naturally energizing quality to countertop sprays, floor cleaners, and scrubs. For topical use, always dilute in a carrier oil first — a 1–2% dilution means about 6–12 drops per 1 fl oz of carrier oil. Do not apply undiluted.
The same oil we use in our cleaning line: The essential oils we sell here are the same oils that go into our Peppermint & Lemon Dish Soap, All-Purpose Cleaner, and Air Freshener. We don't source one quality for our products and another for retail. Mentha arvensis grows best in Asia — that's where the climate produces the high menthol content that makes this oil what it is. You can't replicate that in California. We source it from where it belongs, test every batch for purity at our facility in Shingle Springs, California, and bottle it here. One source, one quality, same oil. If you've used our peppermint-scented cleaning products and wondered what that oil smells like on its own — this is it.
Directions: For diffuser use: add 3–5 drops per 100ml of water. For DIY cleaning: use as directed in your recipe. For topical use: dilute in a carrier oil (1–2%) before applying to skin. Do not apply undiluted. Do not ingest.
Caution: Keep out of reach of children. Do not ingest. Do not apply undiluted to skin — dilute in a carrier oil first. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep away from open flames. Avoid use near the face of young children.
