Polyethylene Glycols (PEGs)
Polyethylene glycols, or PEGs, are a family of petroleum-derived polymers used in some laundry detergents, dish liquids, and personal-care products as thickeners, solvents, and surfactant components. Because they are made by ethoxylation, PEGs and related ethoxylated ingredients can carry trace 1,4-dioxane, a manufacturing byproduct now regulated in several regions. This page explains what PEGs are and how they are assessed.
